Spring has sprung at our little homestead! I love this time of year and the emergence of new life. Trees are starting to bud, flowers are coming up, bees are buzzing, and new baby chicks arrive! I start mapping out my flower beds and garden, and patiently wait for the possibility of frost to disappear. My asparagus starts to pop, and it starts getting included in every meal. The search for the mysterious moral mushroom begins. I've never had luck finding a true moral, but the anticipation of "maybe this year" kicks in! The neighborhood is buzzing with activity again, the sound of kids playing outside and busy lawn mowers tells me summer is on its way! We are in our 5th year of keeping honey bees. My husband, along with our good friend and neighbor do it together. It's always a fun time of year to get the new bees (unfortunately we haven't had a lot of luck in having our bees survive the winter). Keeping bees has been an educational experience and we are learning new things each year.
The most exciting thing about spring in our family is it's almost camping season!!! All of us get excited about the coming trips and can't wait to explore!

My name is Angie. I am a wife, mother, and physical education teacher. I enjoy spending time and traveling with my family. We love the outdoors! Our biggest interests include camping, hiking, exploring our State and National Parks, and gardening. We raise chickens and tend to a few honey bee hives! Although we don't live on a farm, we try to embrace the idea of growing and raising our own food sources as much as we can. We are instilling in our children a love and respect for nature and adventure! I hope you enjoy reading about some of our adventures and I hope you get a chance to explore with your families as well!
