This boys trip was years in the making. Jess has been elk hunting with his uncle a few times, but he has been really looking forward to sharing this experience with Travis. Last year, 2020, definitely had a lot of disappointments and the boys elk hunting trip was just one more casualty of the year. Colorado along with many other western states, battled a horrible wildfire season. The trip was touch and go for a few weeks, but they were hopeful the weather would help get the fires under control. This ended up not being the case, the day they were ready to roll out Jess got news that their hunting area has been instructed to evacuate. Although they were extremely disappointed, I was thankful they didn't have to be that close to danger and was positive they would get another chance at this experience. One year later, they got the experience of a lifetime! Hunting SUCCESS!! Jess and his uncle both filled their tags within the first couple days of hunting. That left plenty of time for harvesting the meat and also gave them time for some sight-seeing. Rocky Mountain National ParkSkiing in Keystone
